KFC now 24 hours

KFC is now open 24 hours! OK, in SS6, Kelana Jaya (near the old giant) the KFC is open 24 hours. The bad thing is, there's no drive thru. I hate the hassle that i've to park & buy. And risk being mugged at night.

They also have free wifi, with the terms, Mon - Fri, 2pm - 6pm.

And i just found out the the malay spelling for PRODUK is actually same with english.

Jogoya - I'm outdated

Jogoya was the best buffet i even been to. I must admit I'm not a buffet person. And this is my first time ever since their opening, in er.. in 2006? I like their wood divider. Shit this buffet restaurant it's like Ikea with great ways of dividing spaces. I finally went for the overpriced buffet because someone had some VIP card where we can eat VIP food.




Not so much of the VIP food anyway, the best is the King Crab & the Prawns on the rocks. Great oysters & mussels, loved the asparagus & the fishes. And i took the Haagan-Daz green tea ice cream, thrice! And I also hit on the pathetic small piece of tiramisu twice & also the quai lin kou. Yum Yum..


However, i think the best part was the ABSORBTION. I like spotting spelling mistakes. It's fun. (Actually it makes me flip the dictionary much more than i did in my primary years)

Starbucks Anywhere

Available at most 7-11 at only for sgd3.40. Very useful especially the starbucks doesn't operate 24 hours.

But i think this is not really frapucino cos its not blended.

2 minutes Noodle

First, cook any available instant noodle like usual. Thats mean putting in everything that came with the noodle so that it won't be tasteless.

At the same time reheat your leftover soup. When the noodle is cooked, drain it. Pour the soup over and enjoy your instant noodle.

Food Entry

So all i did was EAT when there's no work. IF you have no where to eat, try the below.





Celestial Steakhouse International (CSI). Dataran Glomac, located behind Giant Kelana Jaya.Food was kinda slow for lunch though. So unless you are having executive lunch, maybe can try during dinner. Excuse given was to ensure the 'FRESHNESS' so food will only be prepared when ordered (maybe then they shouldn't have the word SET LUNCH. Had a Hoegaarden at RM15. That's quite expensive. And there's only 5% tax.
Nice food though. Will go again. My feast of a set lunch & beer cost about RM30
Oh, and all sorts of Tabasco sauce are available there too.

Sorry i really forgot the name of the restaurant because it was so good. It's opposite Spicy Kitchen Hartamas. Ground Floor. Red signboard. Japanese BBQ. Miso soup burning in paper, mashed potato with butter. Kim-Chim mushroom with butter. Pork & beef. yum yum. 4 person cost less than Rm200.

Mee york in Desa Aman Puri. The chili quite hot too. Different variety, with added lala, or prawn. For those not into chili, the herbal chicken mee is nice too.

Umai-ya Japanese Restaurant. Situated in The Place, Damansara Perdana. Too much food for 4 person, but we can't stop ordering.
Beef sushi, miso soup, temaki roll, salmon sushi, cheese chicken, soy sauce chicken stick, 'dunno-wat-soup, and dunno what sushi. Sorry was abit drunk with the hot sake there. It was good, just don't order too much next time. It comes up to RM200 for 4. Can't smoke inside though.

Seafood porridge, freaking big claypot!! That's the portion for 3 person. RM42. Recommended for small eaters to order 2 person's portion instead cos we can't finish it.
Located at PJ State, beside UOB Bank, at night there serves braised duck rice. During lunch time there's other stalls, incl this porridge. They only serve seafood porridge.




And during our porridge meal earlier, thought of the Seremban Ketam-Bakar. Just 1 hour drive from KL, exit at Seremban, when reaching Terminal 1 (Bus station & Complex) turn left at the traffic. Go straight till you see 'PUSAT MAKANAN SEREMBAN'. In chinese, the signboard mention about 'SIU-HAI' though. 2 crabs + vege + meat for 5 person is not enough though. Shld order 1 crab each. Anyway, the crab is nice cos of the honey on the shell. And the way the break the shell is amazingly good. Easy to eat. No hard peeling. Less than RM100 for 5.

Restaurant The Bird

Situated at Bandar Menjalara this restaurant is surprisingly easy to find considering that i'll usually get lost in Kepong area.

From LDP (towards kepong) make a U-turn after the RM1 toll and turn left at Bandar Menjalara. You'll meet a roundabout (there there's a HUGE Desa Park City sign). Take 12 o'clock and take the first left turn. Go straight all the way, and The Bird is on your left.

Now as most of you will think why THE BIRD. Well, the decoration of the restaurants it's antique style. Very much like blue lotus in Bukit Bintang. And all of the lamps are in bird nest stylo. Maybe the other meaning is the owner likes 'Bird'? You got to see for yourself.

Serving 'seddddddap' nyonya food, what i liked there best was the BUTTER CHICKEN. Took the SET for 2 that came with chicken, fish vege + dessert, and it cost total of RM40 incl. 3 Ampula Juice (confirm nice).

There's other fav dish like the Bird Nest Mee and they serve Sarawak Laksa too. Am going back there for the laksa very very soon.

Southern Visit

Filler post before i continue with the I- Survived - Bangkok - Trip.

Spent my weekend JB & 6 hours in S'pore. (6 hours including putting about 2 hours on customs & public transport)

Surprisingly something in S'pore is cheaper than JB after conversion. So.. shop wisely!!

After some endless shopping in JB, we swim over to S'pore & here's a outcome of 3 1/2 hours in Bugis alone.
1. Got myself 120 pcs of 4X6 glossy photo paper for $12.80
2. Got a Kappa sweater with my fav country embossed.

3. And ridiculous it might seen, the K800i screen protector. (well it's not available here yet)
4. Toys (hey dun think somewhere else)
5. A coin purse

6. Pocket Ashtray. Now this is something useful. I've seen Louis Koo used once and since then i've been looking for it. And i found it 4 years later.

Someone got to stop me from doing shopping till 2010!!!

And back to JB, here's some nice (but not so romantic) eating places in Permas Jaya. Masuk kampung roads (don't take your lowered car to JB, really), the restaurants are facing Singapore, above the 'river' malay type, and very nice nasi lemak (+ the attitude problem).



Nothing much to shop but i found a levi's engineered jeans. One that look like slacks. And some magical aroma stones that discard the ash smell on your ashtray. Nice!


Guide to SG, drive your car to City Sq JB and find a car park. Walk to opposite bus station. Go to the departure hall, get your passport scanned and head to the bus terminal. (as you can see 'Causeway Link' & 'SBS Transit'. Get ready your coins ( in RM) and depends on where you want to go, pay according to amt. Remember to look out for the bus number (CW1, CW2 etc) - for me i chose the nearest MRT so it's Kranji (MRT) and it's 90 cents per person.

When reaching SG customs, fill a form and walk to Mr. Kastam*. After you done the x-ray thing, now, it's time to chase the bus. If u missed it no worries, you can always wait for the next bus. Just follow the sign above those barriers to the correct bus. Tada.. you are in Singkapoh.

*somehow we met the same Mr. Kastam on our way back and he recognised us. Smiling, he said, are you the one that went to Bugis? Yeah!, and see what i bought... (showing se* toys)

Bangkok Eat & Drink V3

Abit weird that we visited HRC in Bangkok. Well we just too hungry to look for other food in Siam Square. And we desperately need to sit & relax our legs.
Oh, and it's a NON SMOKING restaurant.





The most expensive food we had. But it was ok. It was very nice in term of display & taste. So no complain.

OK no more drink liao.. next post will tell you about your route planning during your stay in BKK.

Bangkok Eat & Drink V2

Seafood in all variety. Goreng, steam, RAW. (eeeeeee)

Surprisingly it's really nice with tender meat. But i think Taiwan Sausage still the best.

Bangkok Eat & Drink V1

7-Eleven. Available at every single corner.
The most frequent stall i visited during the trip. Beers range from 24 bht - 40 bht
Chang, Singha light, Chang Light, Leo Beer - 24 bht
Singha - 30 - 35 bht
Heineken - 38 bht
I never looked for any other beers that's higher than 30 bht price tag.
Mind you though, no beers available after midnight. So, stock up before the clock hits 12.





All stall food was stumbled upon by luck. Don't worry too much about the language barrier. Just point & order. Most of them cost between 25 - 30 bht only. Unlimited supply of chili flakes, garlic chili, prawn sauce.

Bu Yi Bao Herbal Soup

SS2 same row with Nasi Kandar Kayu. Behind Cheow Yang.
Set lunch consist of 1. Soup 2. Meat 3. Small portion of vege 4. Rice. Only for RM9.80

Business Hours 11.30am - 2.30pm, 5.30pm - 10.30pm. Open on Sundays too.

Non smoking area though.

Restaurant Teo Chew Meng

Teo Chew Meng Seafood Noodle.

Famous for Mee Suah (or in canto we call in Min Seen). Located @ SS14 facing highway.
Branch @ ss2/30 & Menjarala 8/62A

Pictured below are: Sharkfin Mee Suah (RM10), ***Seafood Fried Rice(RM8) & 3 Taste Oyster (RM12). Accompanied by Green Tea (RM1.50) that looked really like Air Tebu. When i took a sip with expectation of air tebu sweetness, only to realize i ordered green tea.

If you not a big eater, the 1 pax (RM10) sharkfin mee suah is just enough with 1 extra order. They have sweet sour prawn, Kerabu Mango, and i've forgotten the rest.

Note, this is a non smoking restaurant, so leave your ciggy in the car.

*** Recommended Seafood Fried Rice. Full of taste and prawn.

Beef Foldover, what?

It was superbly delicious looking from the brochure i saw in the office pantry. Man it looked so good. Despite ignoring the fine print *For illustration purposes only* we ordered the New Beef Foldover.
